Clear answers on domain registration, .ch pricing, email, nameservers and payments.

Entrepreneur welcoming a new online project
What does a .ch domain cost?

Registration is €9.99 for the first year. Standard renewal is €12.99/year. The prepaid offer covers registration and two future annual renewals for €27 in total. No VAT is charged.

Does the three-year offer work in a bundle?

Yes. It applies only to the .ch line. Other extensions have separate terms and prices. Adding an existing cart domain preserves its chosen term and email selection.

Can I use my own nameservers?

Yes. Use default ClouDNS nameservers or your own. Prepare the required authoritative DNS zone before registration. With external nameservers you edit DNS at that service.

Do you sell web hosting?

Not currently. You can connect your domain to a website provider of your choice.

Is email mandatory?

No. A 10 GB mailbox is an optional €2.70/month service per selected domain. Choose it separately for each domain.

How can I pay?

Use the secure card payment form within this website. Stripe handles card details. Registration is confirmed separately by the registrar after payment.

Are suggested names guaranteed to be free?

No. AI and local suggestions need a separate current availability check. A search result is not a reservation.

Who operates chname.ch?

chname.ch is operated by STEINBERG LTD, company number 17242845. Registered address: 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom.
