Terms for registration, prepaid renewal, optional email and using chname.ch.

1. Operator and services
chname.ch is operated by STEINBERG LTD, company number 17242845, 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. We offer domain registration and optional email. Web hosting is not currently offered. Use the contact form or write to the address above for questions, complaints or cancellation.
2. Orders and registration
Review the exact name, term, registrant, nameservers and optional email before paying. Availability results do not reserve a name. Payment does not prove allocation by a registry. Registration is final when confirmed by the registrar. If registration fails or is uncertain, we review the order and explain fulfillment, an alternative or a refund for undelivered items.
3. Prices and terms
Prices are in EUR. Under the current pricing policy, no VAT is charged. .ch registration is €9.99 for year one; standard renewal is €12.99/year. The €27 offer covers one new .ch registration and two future annual renewals, processed one year at a time by the registry. The stated standard rate applies after the covered period. Other extensions, transfers and restoration have separately confirmed prices. Bundles do not create unstated discounts.
4. Prepaid renewals
Remaining prepaid renewals are tracked per domain. They are not an immediately issued three-year registry term. Contact us before transferring or cancelling about any remaining portion; credits do not automatically transfer to another provider. We investigate execution problems without requiring you to repeat an uncertain registrar operation.
5. Email subscription
Optional email costs €2.70 per month per selected domain for a 10 GB mailbox. The first month is paid with the initial order. Subsequent months are billed automatically through the agreed payment method. Request cancellation in your account for the end of the current paid period. That period remains available unless security or applicable rules require intervention. Domain registration and email are separate services.
6. Registrant information and DNS
You confirm authority to act for the registrant and supply accurate, complete and reachable details. Keep them current and respond to genuine verification requests. Incorrect data may lead to registry action. You are responsible for a lawful name choice and settings for independently selected services. Prepare required authoritative zones before using custom nameservers. Changes may affect both web and email; review DNSSEC too.
7. Registrar and registry agreements
Domains are registered through Openprovider. chname.ch does not claim its own ICANN or registry accreditation. The relevant registration agreement and registry rules apply alongside these terms; official documents are linked below. Checkout displays relevant additional provider fields. Verification, disputes and lawful registry restrictions can affect services.
8. Cancellation and statutory rights
Where applicable, consumers may cancel a service agreement within 14 days of formation. Use the contact form or write with your name, address, order number, date and clear cancellation statement. Immediate registration requires your express request to begin performance. Where legally permitted, complete performance with the required acknowledgement may affect cancellation rights; proportionate costs may apply for partial performance. A checkbox alone does not remove mandatory rights. Faulty performance and undelivered services are assessed separately.
9. Complaints and applicable law
Send complaints with the domain, order number and a description, without secret codes. We investigate and reply to your contact address. The agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales where permitted; mandatory consumer protections in your home country remain applicable. Nothing limits rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be limited.
