Check the host before pasting
Some services verify the apex, others a specific sublabel. A DNS interface may append your domain automatically. Pasting a full name into a relative-host field can duplicate it. Check the complete saved name.
Different TXT purposes can coexist
Verification tokens differ from SPF, DKIM and DMARC. Preserve unrelated records. Some policies, such as SPF, need a single combined record, but ordinary verification tokens can coexist. Save, allow caches to update, then verify through the service.
Your practical checklist
- Edit the active DNS service.
- Check relative versus full hostnames.
- Paste the exact complete token.
- Preserve email settings.
A useful question
Can I remove it later?
Follow the service’s instructions; some services periodically recheck ownership.
